I discovered today that my company, Cato Research, also supports the Durham Rescue Mission. (I probably knew this previously, but it never quite registered in my head.) CATO is now running a Spring Cleaning Drive through the first week of April. I wanted to share this information so that if any of you readers who know me in "real life" want to help out, you can.
Here is a summary of the info that was provided:
2011 SPRING CLEANING DRIVE
Spring is here!
Want a great time to clean out those closets, attics, and garages to rid your house of unwanted items, all for a good cause?
Contribute to the CATO SPRING CLEANING DRIVE!
All items will be donated to the Durham Rescue Mission, whose mission is to help homeless individuals and families in our community by providing temporary housing, meals, job training, and healthcare.
Any gently-used items in good condition that you can contribute are greatly appreciated!
Please drop your donations off by Friday, April 8th, 2011.
Spring Cleaning Donation List:
(Remember to only donate items that are gently used and in good condition!)
Clothes, Jackets, Coats (clean and folded, please)
Linens and Blankets
House decorations (knick knacks, collectables, vases, paintings, frames, etc.)
That's a lot of you can donate!! I'm pretty excited, because I'd like to clear some stuff out of my house, and I'd rather give my items to an organization such as this instead of to Goodwill (although I know Goodwill helps others, also - it's just more indirect than I'd prefer).
If you'd like to donate any items, just drop your goods off with me any time before April 8th and I will bring them to work with me to donate. :)
