KinKast Review and Giveaway

I was recently given the opportunity to review a sweet new app for the iPhone:

KinKast is an app that allows you to easily record, upload, and privately share videos from your iPhone. As a mom who frequently takes videos of her son, I was eager to try this app out.

KinKast describes its functions and perks as follows:

The KinKast App is the easiest way to privately share video clips. Record a moment and share it with two taps!

• No waiting (video uploads in the background)
• Privately share with friends (they receive a link with no login required)
• Safely back-up your memories on KinKast servers
• Can also post to Facebook

You can also access your private video library at KinKast.com. Online, you can watch, share, download and delete videos. Plus, upload videos from other cameras.

**********************

What you do is this:
* Use the KinKast app to record your video.
* As soon as you finish recording, the video begins uploading to the KinKast servers.
* You can start recording another video as soon as you'd like.  The videos upload in the background.
* When the video is finished uploading, you will be able to share it via email by emailing a link to friends and family straight from the app.

What I liked:
* Ability to email videos to friends and family
* Friends and family are not required to create an account to view videos
* Security of knowing my videos are safely stored and backed up online
* Video is not on YouTube or Facebook where everyone and their mother can see it
* There is a Wi-Fi-only option which can be selected to prevent your iPhone from using up all your data allowance

What I hope will improve:
* Upload speeds seem slow (but this could be due to my Wi-Fi connection)
* Uploads only continue for 10 minutes.  At that point, a pop-up will appear and you have to click "Continue" for the videos to continue uploading. If you miss the pop-up for a long time, no uploading will have occurred during that time.

There are both free and premium versions of the KinKast app.  The free version offers 30 days of free online storage for each video.  Perks of upgrading to the Premium Plan are as follows:
* Unlimited storage on KinKast servers
* All videos always available online (forever - no 30 day limit)
* No ads

The current cost for upgrading is $4.99/month or $49.99/year.
