Toddler Times: Sing Him a Song

Today Greyden was in his bouncy seat and started fussing. Krew went over to look at him with Dave, and Dave told Krew that Grey was sad.

"Sing him a song?" Krew asked.

"You want to sing him a song?" Dave said. Krew responded yes, so Dave told him to go ahead.

Krew proceeded to sing him the entire song "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" all by himself. When he was done, he blew Grey an air kiss and then walked away.

Sweetest thing ever. It's looking like he may be a pretty awesome big brother. :)

Greyden Roy

I'm so happy to announce the arrival of Greyden Roy, who joined the world on Saturday, July 28th, 2012 at 5:44am.

He weighed 8lbs 6.5oz and was 21 1/4 inches long. He was about six days early and healthy as can be.

We are all doing great and so excited to welcome him as part of our family.

And now I get to start sharing gobs of pictures of TWO little boys. :)

Toddler Times: Helicopter

One of my favorite of Krew's words right now is "helicopter".

"Cockacockter!!"

If you ever hear him say it, it's pretty fantastic.  Make sure to ask him about a helicopter next time you see him.

Toddler Times: Praying for Pizza

Every night we pray with Krew before he goes to sleep for the night. Lately we've been asking him which of us he wants to pray. Sometimes he says "Mommy,", sometimes he says "Daddy," and sometimes he says "ederbody" ("everybody"). ("Ederbody" is always entertaining. It usually involves Dave and me taking turns saying parts of a prayer, while Krew mumbles and tries to copy our words while staying one syllable behind us.)

This past Sunday night, I was the honored person selected for prayer time.

So I did my usual...I said "Dear God, thank for for a fun day, thank you that we got to go to church, and play with cars, and play in the pool..." and I went through all the things I thought were probably a highlight in Krew's day. I then finished up by saying, "Thank you for Jesus and please let us have a day tomorrow that glorifies You. In Jesus' name, Amen."

As soon as I finished, Krew turned to me and said in a soft quiet voice, "Forgot...um...forgot...forgot pizza."

We'd had pizza for dinner, and I hadn't mentioned it in my prayer.  And apparently, pizza was a big part of the little man's day.  It was the first time he'd ever offered anything of his own for a prayer.  And it was the first time that Dave and I both knew he was listening to our prayers and that he understood that we were listing things were thankful for.  It about melted our mommy and daddy hearts.

I quickly re-bowed my head and said, "Oh, and thank you that we got to eat pizza.  In Jesus' name, Amen."

And then the little boy laid his head down and was content.

Thank you Jesus, thank you for these little moments.

Yes I am still alive, no I did not have a baby.

I realize I've been a bit quiet on the blog front lately.  I really hate being this way, because I really love blogging.  But sometimes life hits, ya know?  All the time I normally spend blogging (i.e. when Krewson is napping or in bed for the night) has been filled with other activities lately.  Such as:

1. Visiting with family or friends (either at our house or elsewhere).
2. Picking up and cleaning the house.
3. Working on my pre-baby-#-2 list.
4. Uploading pictures for family.
5. Sitting in a bathtub to soothe my aching body (I've been doing a LOT of this).
6. Writing posts for my pregnancy blog (although those have been sparse as well).

And honestly, sometimes you just don't feel like saying anything at the moment.  I mean, yes, I have a list of blog posts that I'm excited to write sometime in the future, but I'm just not feeling that they're a priority right now and so I just can't put my fingers to the keyboard.

And normally, when I have little to say, I fill in with pictures.  But given that I'm 2 1/2 months behind on editing and uploading my pictures (eeeeeek) there aren't many of those to use, either.

Sigh.  What's a girl to do?

Anyway, basically what I'm trying to say is that yes, I still care about my blog.  Problem is, I care about a lot of other stuff a wee bit more than my blog. :)  So THANK YOU to all of you who still care enough to stop by for my sporadic posts. :)

And PS, I'm full term on Friday.  So a birth announcement should be coming within the next month! Woo hoo! :)
