I Am

This is one of my most favorite Christian songs.  It touches me to the core.  It's a beautiful song and Mark Schultz's voice just pierces me.  My favorite part is when he sings, "And when you cry, I am...", first of all because it's a very moving part of the song, and second of all because it reminds me that God is always there for me, loving me when I'm hurting, even when no one else sees what's going on inside.  I hear it more as, "And when you cry I AM...", as a thought complete by itself.  Because I AM is just one of God's many names.  It reminds me that He is strong and powerful, He is unchanging, He is always there, and He is love.

Just wanted to share. :)

I Am
by Mark Schultz

I am the maker of the heavens
I am the bright and morning star
I am the breath of all creation
Who always was
And is to come

I am the One who walked on water
I am the One who calmed the seas
I am the miracles and wonders
So come and see
And follow me
You will know

I am the fount of living water
The risen Son of Man
The healer of the broken
And when you cry
I am your savior and redeemer
Who bore the sins of man
The author and perfecter
Beginning and the end
I am

I am the spirit deep inside you
I am the word upon your heart
I am the One who even knew you
Before your birth
Before you were

I am the fount of living water
The risen Son of Man
The healer of the broken
And when you cry
I am your savior and redeemer
Who bore the sins of man
The author and perfecter
Beginning and the end
I am

Before the Earth (I am)
The universe (I am)
In every heart (I am)
Oh, where you are (I am)
The Lord of Lords (I am)
The King of Kings (I am)
The Holy Lamb (I am)
Above all things

Yes, I am almighty God your father
The risen Son of Man
The healer of the broken
And when you cry
I am your savior and redeemer
Who bore the sins of man
The author and perfecter
Beginning and the end
I am

Valentine's Baking

Yesterday Dave had a frisbee tournament for most of the day, so I had a couple friends over to bake and decorate Valentine's Day yummies.  We made brownies and sugar cookies and decorated with pink icing. :)

Pedicure

Last weekend my friend Kristin took me to get a pedicure as a "baby" gift.  It was so wonderful.  We got lattes (decaf!) ahead of time and then sat there for an hour and got pampered.  My lady was especially into giving me a long foot massage, which I much appreciated since I can barely touch my feet anymore, regardless of what position I choose.  (Bending straight over...definitely not happening.  Propping the foot up on the other leg's knee...also not happening.  Putting a foot on a chair...somewhat feasible, but still a little difficult.  Squatting...yeah I can do that, but who does that to touch their feet??)

Thanks for the hour of bliss, Kristin!!

What have YOU done to pamper yourself a bit lately??

Coffee and Piano Room

Those of you who know me well know that I love me some music and coffee.  So, of course, when we were planning the interior decorating for our house, I jumped on Dave's idea to turn our front room into a coffee and piano room.  A couple weeks ago Kristin helped me hang up the pictures on the wall to add the finishing touches.  I absolutely love this room now!!  It's where I do my Bible reading every morning, and it's so soothing and comfy to me.  It's like my own special place. :)

Feel free to come over for a cup of Joe anytime! :)

New Home DIY Project #1 Returns

You may recall that eons ago I shared how Dave and I received a nice dining set and china cabinet from his aunt and uncle. And you may also recall that we had selected fabric and planned on recovering the chairs. (More than likely, you do not recall any of this, as it was all back in May. Check out the post here for a reminder: New Home DIY Project #1.)

In any case, we did in fact recover the chairs.  So I thought it was about time I shared the pictures. :)

We also put the fabric in the back of the china cabinet:

(You can see what it used to look like here: New Home DIY Project #1.)

Recovering the chairs was actually a lot easier than I expected!  After getting the fabric, we scotch guarded it, ironed it, measured it, and cut it to size.  Then we removed the screws from underneath the chairs, pulled off the cushions, put the new fabric straight over the old fabric, stapled it on, then screwed the cushions back onto the chair frames.  It was inexpensive and easy.  Definitely a project I'd recommend. :)

We've performed quite a few additional New Home DIY Projects, and I'll be sharing them sometime in the near future.  (Well, ok, it will depend on how frequently I'm able to post about non-baby subjects after our son is born in a few weeks.  But I'll do my best. :) )

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
